Korn (Munky / Head) Amp Settings & Guitar Tone
Featured Tone
Blind (1994)
Head: 1991 Ibanez Universe UV7PWH (white). Munky: 1990 Ibanez Universe UV7BK (black). Blind intro: old Silvertone amp-in-case guitar (Munky, mic placed against guitar body). → Debated — most likely Marshall JCM 900 (Munky) + Hughes & Kettner Attax (Head), through Marshall and H&K 4x12 cabinets. NOT Mesa Boogie Rectifiers (those were strictly live rigs).
Massively down-tuned, thick, and aggressive with a raw, almost lo-fi quality. Fuzz-laden and saturated — the modified 'Bigger Muff' adds woolly, sustain-heavy distortion on top of amp gain. Munky runs mids at 0 (scooped), Head at 3 (slightly more present). Both run bass at 10 for seismic low end. Dry and aggressive — minimal reverb or delay. Analog warmth from Indigo Ranch's vintage API console. The 'Blind' intro uses a Silvertone amp-in-case guitar with mic placed directly against body for distinctive lo-fi character.
