Albatross Amp Settings
Albatross features Peter Green's hauntingly beautiful clean tone — warm, round, and ethereal. Green's Les Paul with a reversed neck pickup magnet through a clean Fender Twin Reverb creates a unique out-of-phase nasal quality in the middle position that no other guitar quite replicates.
What Makes This Tone Iconic
Peter Green's tone on Albatross is unlike anything else in rock. The reversed magnet in his neck pickup creates a hollow, nasal quality in the middle position that's simultaneously warm and ghostly. Through a clean Fender Twin with reverb, the tone floats and sustains like a dream. Green's gentle touch and melodic sensibility make every note sing with a melancholy beauty that influenced generations, from Gary Moore to Kirk Hammett.
